Scholarship Audition and Interview Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

Prepare one monologue of your choice, no more than 2 minutes

If your scene partner is also auditioning, you may instead perform a short scene cutting, no more than 5 minutes

Audition Process

Open admissions; no audition, prescreen, or portfolio is required for program admission

Performance auditions for productions are separate from admission

Theatre scholarship applicants complete an individual appointment with the director of their scholarship interest

Performance applicants prepare a monologue or short scene

In-person and Zoom scholarship sessions are available

For a virtual audition, email an unlisted YouTube or WeTransfer performance link to Ashley Garst at garst@iowacentral.edu no later than 48 hours before the scheduled audition or Zoom meeting

Scholarship Info

Scholarship Eligibility

Scholarships are available to students interested in theatre performance

Scholarship applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, submit a recommendation letter, and attend a scholarship interview

Award recipients must maintain a 2.5 GPA, participate actively in productions, enroll in required award courses, and complete grade-check forms

Theatre scholarship recipients take Acting I and audition for the two mainstage productions
