Audition Requirements
Dance
TECHNIQUE CLASS
•Attend class in the studio for evaluation by faculty
SOLO PERFORMANCE, 2-3 minutes
•May feature your own choreography or another choreographer's work
•Performed during audition day
Additional Materials
PHOTO IN MOTION (required)
•Submit a dance photo showing movement
PERFORMANCE RESUME (required)
•Current resume of dance and performance experience

APPLICATION PROCESS
•Apply to Illinois State University first, then select audition date within the application
•On-campus audition is preferred when possible
ACCEPTD
•Submit recorded audition via Acceptd only if you cannot attend an on-campus audition date
OFF-CAMPUS AUDITIONS
•Illinois High School Dance Festival (must register for festival)
•Chicago National Association of Dance Masters (must register for CNADM)
ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
•Part of entitlement program leading to professional educator license, secondary 9-12 endorsement
•100 clock hours minimum of pre-student teaching clinical experiences required
•Second teaching field endorsement strongly recommended for high school settings

AUDITION FORMAT
•Technique class evaluation in the studio
•Solo performance (2-3 minutes)
•Interview with faculty
TIMELINE
•Rolling admissions contingent on acceptance to Illinois State University
•Notification within two weeks of audition
•Scholarship awards announced after March 1
