Songs

Two Original Vocal Tracks

Prepare two original tracks featuring vocals you have written

Vocals may be delivered by you or by another artist

Present the tracks live or as playback via public links in your preparation folder

If performing live, accompany yourself with a backing track or an instrument

Additional Materials

Lyric Sheets (Required)

Add your lyrics as a PDF to your public preparation folder (Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive)

Audition Process

ICMP invites songwriting-course applicants to a one-to-one audition with a tutor

Complete the application form first so ICMP can make a formal offer after the session

Sessions are held in person or remotely over Zoom; all times are UK time

Audition Expectations

Be ready to discuss the songs you present, how you created and developed them, and what you hope to achieve on the course

Set up one folder (Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive) with sharing set to public; add backing tracks and recordings as clickable links and your lyrics as a PDF

Folders are for your preparation; there is no need to send them in advance

Test any links before the audition
