Prescreen Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

Dance

Required Pre-Audition Video

2-minute commercial dance solo

Choreography of your choice (self-choreographed or by someone else)

Upload to YouTube, Vimeo, or Google Drive

Include choreographer name in description

Ensure link is accessible (test in private browser)

Submit link to apply@iabarcelona.es at least 1 week before audition

Additional Videos (Optional)

Previous performances, rehearsals, or studio practice

Maximum 2 minutes

Submit as unlisted YouTube, Vimeo, or Google Drive link

Good to Know

Application Logistics

Applications for September 2026 are closed.

September 2027 applications and audition dates will be published when the next cycle opens.

Submit the IAB application, then pay the €50 application fee before an audition can be booked.

The current Commercial Dance audition guide is for September 2026 and is explicitly subject to change for September 2027.

Program Requirements

The programme requires IELTS 6.0 or equivalent and academic qualifications equivalent to 104 UK Tariff points or 24 IB points.

Applicants may audition before completing those conditions; successful applicants can receive a conditional offer.

What's The Process

Prescreen

Submit required commercial dance solo video at least 1 week before audition

Optional additional performance videos accepted

Live Audition

Tutor-led group dance classes: jazz and commercial/freestyle

One-to-one interview about previous training and aspirations

Cuts may take place, with invited candidates completing the full audition

On-campus (Sitges, Barcelona), in-person at international locations, or live online via Zoom

Outcome communicated within 4 weeks

Attire

Jazz: leotard or plain t-shirt, footless tights or shorts, jazz shoes/socks/bare feet

Commercial: sports/urban wear, non-street-worn trainers only, hair off face but not in a bun

Scholarship Info

Scholarships

Limited number of scholarships awarded annually to new students

Faculty-selected based on artistic potential (cannot be applied for)

Constitutes a reduction in fees, not a full waiver

Financial Aid

Small grant toward tuition fees available upon request after receiving an offer

Requires separate application with supporting evidence

Must be submitted before paying the registration fee
