Audition Process
•Bullet: One-stage, masterclass-style audition with IAB staff (about a 30-minute session)
•Bullet: Perform classical monologue, contemporary monologue, and song
•Bullet: One-to-one interview about your previous training, personal aspirations as an actor, and vocal health
•Bullet: Where further consideration is required, you may be asked to attend a second audition with the Programme Leader; IAB will tell you whether to perform a monologue
•Bullet: Auditions are recorded and shared with IAB staff to assess suitability
•Bullet: Cannot audition solely via video recording; you present and interview individually (an in-person or on-campus audition may start with a small group introduction)
•Bullet: Audition types:
◦Sub-bullet: On-Campus (Sitges, Barcelona)
◦Sub-bullet: In-Person at international locations (IAB travels to a city near you)
◦Sub-bullet: Live Online: the Acting guide says Microsoft Teams, but the IAB auditions page says Zoom; confirm with IAB which one you will use
•Bullet: Format and decision criteria are identical for every audition type
Audition Expectations
•Bullet: Be prepared to respond to direction during your audition
•Bullet: Wear comfortable rehearsal clothes that allow you to move freely
•Bullet: All spoken elements of the audition and interview must be in English
•Bullet: Live online: your full body must be visible on camera, the camera must not face a window or auto-zoom on your face, and you should do a test call on the device you will use and check the start time in your time zone
Decisions
•Bullet: Outcome communicated within 4 weeks
