Audition Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

Songs

One Song

A song of your choice in any style

May be sung with or without music

Maximum 2 minutes

Must be performed in English

Monologues

Two Monologues

One classical monologue from Shakespeare

From the provided monologue list or a Shakespearean monologue of your own choice

You may choose from either the female or male characters list

One contemporary monologue from a modern play

1-2 minutes in length

Be prepared to discuss your characters and understanding of the scenes

All pieces must be performed in English

Application Logistics

Applications for September 2026 are closed.

September 2027 applications and audition dates will be published when the next cycle opens.

Submit the IAB application, then pay the €50 application fee before an audition can be booked.

The current Acting audition guide is for September 2026 and is explicitly subject to change for September 2027.

Program Requirements

The programme requires IELTS 6.0 or equivalent and academic qualifications equivalent to 104 UK Tariff points or 24 IB points.

Applicants may audition before completing those conditions; successful applicants can receive a conditional offer.

What's The Process

Audition Format

One-stage, masterclass-style audition with IAB staff

Perform classical monologue, contemporary monologue, and song

One-to-one interview discussing previous training and aspirations

Cannot audition solely via video recording

Audition Types

On-Campus (Sitges, Barcelona)

In-Person at international locations

Live Online via Microsoft Teams

What to Expect

Be prepared to respond to direction during your audition

Wear comfortable rehearsal clothes

Outcome communicated within 4 weeks

Scholarship Info

Scholarships

Limited number of scholarships awarded annually to new students

Faculty-selected based on artistic potential (cannot be applied for)

Constitutes a reduction in fees, not a full waiver

Financial Aid

Small grant toward tuition fees available upon request after receiving an offer

Requires separate application with supporting evidence

Must be submitted before paying the registration fee
