Vocal Performance
•Sing one jazz song, such as a swing tune, blues, ballad, or bossa nova
•Sing one contrasting song in any musical style
•Include improvisation on the jazz piece by scatting or paraphrasing one chorus
Technical Requirements
•Sing major, harmonic minor, Mixolydian, and chromatic scales as specified in the audition requirements
•Sing Cmaj7, F7, and Dm7 arpeggios, plus the listed interval exercises
Preparation
•Memorize both song selections
•Recorded accompaniment is allowed, though live accompaniment is recommended
•Amplification with a microphone is preferred
