Audition Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

Repertoire

Wind students: at least two standard repertoire pieces for the instrument

Percussion students: two standard pieces for snare, timpani, and mallet percussion

Strings students: two contrasting movements of a sonata or concerto, plus an optional etude

Scales & Technique

Wind and percussion students: major and minor scales

Strings students: one scale and arpeggios, two octaves minimum

Sight-Reading

A brief sight-reading assessment accompanies the audition (winds and percussion)
