Audition Process
•Bullet: Admission to the BM Performance - Choral concentration is through Henderson State's undergraduate application; participating in the choral scholarship audition is optional and used for performance-scholarship consideration only.
•Bullet: HSU's vocal/choral audition page publishes named steps for 'Bachelor of Arts' and 'Choral Music Education' auditionees and no separate Performance-track script; both named tracks share the same solo-song, interview, aural-skills, and diagnostic steps, which this concentration follows: prepare one memorized solo song in any language (not a choral piece), complete a short interview, and be assessed on aural skills, sight-singing, and rhythm (short phrases played at the keyboard, sung back, plus a sight-reading example).
•Bullet: Complete a music-theory/aural-perception diagnostic exam (does not affect scholarship eligibility or award amount).
Audition Expectations
•Bullet: In-person and virtual scholarship-audition options are available; a virtual audition submits the solo piece via an unlisted YouTube or Google Drive link two days before a scheduled virtual interview and aural-skills session.
