Two Musical Theatre Songs, 90 Sec Max Each

One musical theatre song from pre-1970

One musical theatre song from post-1970

Monologues

Requirements

One monologue, 60-90 sec

Performer's choice of material

Dance

Optional Dance Video

No dance audition required

May submit a dance audition video for additional consideration

Additional Materials

Audition Reference Form (Required)

Completed by someone familiar with your musical and academic achievement

Submit through Heidelberg's School of Music & Theatre reference form

Application Logistics

Apply to Heidelberg via Common App or school website

Schedule audition separately through the School of Music & Theatre

Submit Piano Assessment Form at least two weeks prior to audition date (if applicable)

Eligibility

Audition required for all students planning to major in theatre

Non-majors encouraged to audition for participation awards

Enrollment

Students may defer their audition to the end of their first year

Work with faculty during first year to identify strengths and develop skills

What's The Process

Audition Expectations

Three parts: prepared songs and monologue, interview with faculty, and assessment of musical background

Live audition strongly preferred; video audition available if campus visit causes undue difficulty

Optional dance video may be submitted for additional consideration
