Training
•BA preparing students for K-12 professional teacher licensure in Arkansas to teach drama and speech at the elementary and/or secondary level
•Combines theatre and oral-communication coursework with classroom field experience and directing practice
Performance & Productions
•Department stages roughly seven fully staged productions each season, giving education majors directing and teaching reps
•Pied Pipers, Harding's children's improvisational theatre troupe, performs 60+ times a year — touring nationally and internationally for more than 16,000 children annually
•Students also work on signature campus events including the Homecoming musical, the Spring Sing musical revue, and Searcy Summer Dinner Theatre, with productions drawing 36,000+ patrons each season
Notable Alumni
•Elizabeth Mae Yielding (BA Drama/Speech Licensure, 2012) — built the Heber Springs (AR) high-school theatre program from the ground up and now leads theatre professional development for the Arkansas Department of Education
