Two Musical Theatre Songs

One legit song written before 1965, up to 2 minutes

One contemporary song written after 1965, up to 2 minutes

Choose material from the musical theatre repertoire that shows your strength as a performer

Monologues

One Contemporary Speech

Select a speech from a published play written since 2000

Maximum length: 2 minutes

Dance

Dance Session

Participate in a dance session during the single-day audition workshop

Eligibility

Applicants are normally age 18 or older

GCSE English and English-language requirements apply

Exceptional talent may be considered irrespective of academic background

Audition Process

Attend a single-day workshop after applying through UCAS

Take part in singing, dance, and acting sessions

Prepare both musical theatre songs and the published-play speech listed in the requirements

Surrey's 2027 entry page states that offers follow a successful audition and interview; no separate public interview format is published

Scholarship Info

Gsa Funding

One-year CertHE Acting and Musical Theatre students are eligible for GSA's Shining Star Scholarship when it is offered for their entry cycle

Eligibility is limited to qualifying UK/Home students from specified underrepresented groups who have accepted a place

GSA also publishes needs-based bursaries for students across its programmes; availability and amounts are confirmed annually
