Training
•Bullet: 30–31 unit major within the 60-unit Associate of Science degree, combining dance pedagogy, lesson planning, choreography, movement development from birth through age 12, First Aid plus Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries or Human Anatomy, and technique study
•Bullet: Prepares students to teach technical dance skills with correct alignment and coordination and to design programs for different ages and settings
•Bullet: The Associate of Science degree is granted upon completing the major units plus GCC General Education or Cal-GETC coursework, at least 12 units completed at GCC, and a 2.0 GPA across the required 60 semester units
Performance & Productions
•Bullet: Includes a supervised Dance Internship plus Dance Production coursework (faculty repertoire or student choreography)
•Bullet: Technique options let students build teaching depth through one of three course tracks spanning ballet, modern dance, and jazz
