Songs
TWO MEMORIZED SELECTIONS IN CONTRASTING STYLES
•One selection must be in a foreign language
•One selection must be in English
•Music theater pieces are acceptable
•Suggested repertoire: Twenty-Four Italian Songs and Arias, Joan Boytim solo books
•Pop songs and unaccompanied pieces are not permitted
ACCOMPANIMENT
•Live accompaniment for in-person auditions
•Taped accompaniment permissible for video submissions

APPLICATION PROCESS
•Apply to the university via Common App or Georgia Southern direct portal
•Separately apply to the department via the music application form
•Auditions take place on the Statesboro campus
What's The Process
AUDITION FORMAT
•Live audition on Statesboro campus or video submission accepted
•Audition includes two memorized songs, aural/sight-singing assessment, and interview
•Entrance audition also serves as the scholarship audition
VIDEO SUBMISSION OPTION
•Submit recordings via YouTube, Google Drive, or Dropbox
•Video submissions are pre-screened before advancing to a Zoom session
•Zoom session covers aural/sight-singing assessment and interview

GRETSCH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS
•Scholarships available for new music majors based on audition/interview results and academic qualifications
•Carol A. Carter scholarships for new students are renewable for four years
•Must audition by March 7 to be considered
•Continuing student scholarships based on performance and academic excellence via endowment program
