Audition Requirements

Dance

Solo/Variation Presentation

•Prepare a 1 to 2.5 minute solo or classical variation

•Choose a style of dance you feel most comfortable performing

•Music must be on CD or cable-ready device

•No costumes

Attire

•Female: black leotard, pink tights, ballet shoes, pointe shoes if applicable, hair in ballet bun

•Male: black tights or dance pants, white tee shirt, black or white ballet shoes

Ballet

Ballet Technique Class

•45 to 60 minute classical ballet class led by faculty

•20 minute pointe class follows for students with prior pointe experience

Eligibility

•Audition not required for students taking dance classes as electives only

What's The Process

Audition Process

•Campus auditions held three times per year at WSCC

•Audition at least one semester before expected entrance date

•Offsite auditions held at festivals and competitions throughout the year

Audition Expectations

•Three-part audition: Ballet Technique Class, Information Session, and Solo/Variation Presentation

•Information Session includes a 20-minute program presentation and Q&A (parents/guardians welcome)

•Video auditions accepted for students unable to attend in person
