•The current department graduate-requirements block still names Acting, but the 2026-2027 catalog lists only Directing and Design/Technical Production MFA concentrations

•Applicants auditioning at CSUF present two contrasting monologues; an optional 16-bar song may also be offered

•Recorded video is listed as an alternative but is not recommended

Financial Support

•MFA candidates may receive a graduate assistantship or teaching assistantship based on qualifications and departmental needs

•The department also offers scholarships and paid work opportunities in classrooms, shops, the library, and the production office

•CSUF may nominate incoming graduate students for nonresident tuition waivers; students remain responsible for in-state tuition and fees
