•Emphasis on the triple threat of acting, singing, and dancing
•19 dance classes per year with public dance performances

Songs
ONE FULL SONG (up-tempo or ballad) from the Broadway repertoire
•Must best represent your vocal range
•Musical selection must be memorized
SHEET MUSIC
•Bring one copy of sheet music to audition
•Music should be clearly copied, hole-punched and presented in a three-ring binder
•All cuts should be clearly marked
•Sheet music must be in correct key signature
Monologues
ONE CONTEMPORARY MONOLOGUE
•Approximately 2 minutes in duration
•Memorized
•Should be an expression of candidate's best work
•Should represent your age, passion, and identification with the material
Dance
•BRIEF INTRODUCTION
-Name, previous dance experience, what you hope to learn/gain/improve, and why you want to join Musical Theatre program at Five Towns College
•ONE MINUTE SOLO
-in any style of your choice with music that showcases talents and personality

What's The Process
AUDITION FORMAT
•Three-part audition: song, dance, and monologue
•In-person auditions are preferred
•Virtual or pre-recorded auditions may be accepted with permission of the Department Chair
•If you have auditioned in person, no pre-recorded audition is needed
AUDITION PROCESS
•Auditions may last up to 10 minutes
•Faculty evaluates ability to follow direction, attitude, preparation, and rehearsal
ACCOMPANIMENT
•Accompanist provided when available
•Bring a portable music device as backup
•Establish your tempo and review musical interpretations with the accompanist before performing
•The accompanist will not transpose music at the audition
Scholarship Info
AUTOMATIC CONSIDERATION
•Students are automatically considered for scholarships upon submission and review of their application
•No separate scholarship application required for incoming students
•Awards based on academic achievement, talent, financial need, and community service
•Scholarship notifications mailed following acceptance letter
EARLY ACTION INCENTIVE
•One-time $1,500 grant for students who apply, are admitted, and deposit by December 1
