Audition Requirements

Monologues

Two monologues from contemporary dramatic repertoire

Each monologue should be approximately 2 minutes

All monologues must be memorized

Material Selection

Choose material that represents your best work

Choose pieces that reflect your passion and connection to the material

Application Logistics

Submit the Five Towns College undergraduate application online

The $35 application fee is waived when applying online

Schedule an in-person audition (preferred) with the online audition scheduling form, or contact Admissions

To submit a recorded audition, use the form on the audition requirements page to send links to your two monologue videos

Virtual or pre-recorded auditions may be accepted only with Chair permission

Auditions also available at National Unified Auditions

What's The Process

Audition Process

Auditions may last up to 10 minutes

Faculty evaluates ability to follow direction, attitude, preparation, and rehearsal

Unified Auditions (New York and Chicago): sign up on the Five Towns College Unified Auditions page to request a 20-minute audition slot

Unified Auditions: present two contrasting, two-minute, memorized monologues from works of established playwrights, including at least one contemporary selection

Unified Auditions: choose a character that is close to your age range; the monologues should be realistic (no dialects and/or character voices)

Unified Auditions: bring a performance / training resume and a head shot (should not exceed 8×10 in size)

Unified Auditions: you will receive acting and singing coaching at the audition

Audition Expectations

In-person auditions are preferred

Virtual or pre-recorded auditions require permission of the Department Chair

Applicants who have not auditioned in person should submit a recorded audition and/or expect an online interview

Scholarship Info

Automatic Consideration

Incoming students are automatically considered for Five Towns College scholarships after application submission and review

No separate scholarship application is required for incoming students

Scholarship notifications are mailed after acceptance

Awards are based on academic achievement, talent, financial need, and community service

Early Action Incentive

Fall 2027 applicants should apply and deposit by December 1, 2026 to qualify for the one-time $1,500 Early Action Incentive Grant
