Audition Class
•Bullet: Full-day onsite audition includes ballet, contemporary, and improvisation classes.
Audition Solo Video
•Bullet: Upload a video of a 1-2 minute solo, in any dance style of your choosing, to the Portfolio section of your FSU Admissions Portal. It must be uploaded one week before your in-person audition date or you will be removed from the audition roster.
•Bullet: Freshman/sophomore applicants may use their own choreography or another choreographer's; junior/senior transfer applicants must perform their own choreography.
•Bullet: Film horizontally with your full body in the frame, in class attire rather than a costume, and as recently as possible.
•Bullet: Begin with an introduction in tight framing (waist and above) giving your name, the title of the solo (if there is one), the choreographer's name, the title of the music, and the composer's name.
•Bullet: The video may not exceed 3 minutes total, with 1-2 minutes of dancing.
•Bullet: Do not submit a video of a solo pulled from a recent performance or competition. The choreography itself may come from one, but the solo should be filmed in a studio environment in class attire.
Attire
•Bullet: Ballet: close-fitting dancewear and ballet slippers and/or pointe shoes.
•Bullet: Contemporary and improvisation: close-fitting dancewear and bare feet.
