Audition Process
•Bullet: University admission is required before acceptance as a Music major
•Bullet: Audition in your chosen performing area and declare an area of study at the audition
•Bullet: Auditions may be scheduled throughout the year for major admission
•Bullet: Virtual auditions and video submissions are accepted
•Bullet: Music scholarship auditions also count as the major acceptance audition
Audition Expectations
•Bullet: Applicants are expected to match a single pitch and short pitch sequences
•Bullet: A brief music theory diagnostic exam is administered before the audition
•Bullet: Memorization of audition repertoire is encouraged but not required
•Bullet: A staff accompanist is provided for vocal auditions
•Bullet: Instrumental accompanist is optional
•Bullet: Send accompanist music to the Department Chair at least 1 week before the audition if needed
