Teacher Education Program
•Admission to the Teacher Education Program (TEP) is required for upper-level music methods courses
•TEP requires a minimum 3.0 overall GPA (no less than 2.75 content and professional-education GPA) with an ACT of 18+, or a 2.75 GPA with an ACT of 24+
•Program completers are eligible for an Initial PreK-12 Music License from the Kansas State Department of Education
Placement
•Admitted students take a music theory and aural-skills placement assessment for course placement only — it does not affect admission
•Piano proficiency must be passed before student teaching
Important Notes
•An audition is not required for admission; an optional audition is used for music scholarship consideration
•Eight credit hours in a single foreign language is required
•Schedule an optional scholarship audition through the Fine Arts Scholarship Application form
