•Apply to Fresno State before auditioning; the 2027-28 audition page requires applicants to have applied to the university

Program Structure
•All music majors begin as Music as a Liberal Art (the BA) until officially admitted to a Bachelor of Music option
•A broad liberal-arts music degree well suited to a second major, minor, or graduate preparation
•After the second semester of applied study, BA students must attempt Jury I in their declared area to continue the major; two consecutive-semester attempts are allowed
Placement
•Admitted students take a music theory and aural-skills diagnostic at the audition — for course placement only, not admission
