Program Recognition
•Fredonia’s BFA Theatrical Production and Design students choose a focus area by the end of sophomore year while building a shared production foundation.
Training
•Scenic Design focus combines Properties for the Stage or History of Architecture and Decor for Theatre with Scene Design II and Scene Painting II.
•The shared core adds drawing and drafting, digital tools, lighting and sound technology, costume design, design/technical production, and production seminars.
Performance & Productions
•Students apply scenic concepts to fully realized productions in the Walter Gloor Mainstage Series and other Theatre and Dance productions.
Facilities
•The Rockefeller Arts Center provides a scene shop, drawing and drafting labs, digital design tools, paint facilities, and multiple performance venues for production training.
Degree Flexibility
•Electives may extend into art history, drawing, sound, stagecraft, properties, architecture and decor history, lighting design, scene painting, and arts organization/management.
