Trumpet: two contrasting selections demonstrating lyricism and technical dexterity; jazz improvisation may be included as the applicant is able

Trombone, euphonium, and tuba: two contrasting selections demonstrating lyricism and technical dexterity

Chromatic scale plus two major scales, ascending and descending across the full range of the instrument

All music majors with scholarships must be enrolled in a major ensemble in their applied area until the internship semester

Theory Placement

Admitted students take a music theory and aural-skills placement diagnostic at orientation — for course placement only, not admission

Florida Department of Education-approved program leading to K-12 music teacher certification in Florida

Audition on your principal instrument or voice (applied music area)

Auditions offered throughout the school year on an appointment basis

Must have applied to and been accepted by the FSC Office of Admissions (or have a pending admission decision)
