Comprehensive training in classical and contemporary dance forms

PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES

Perform from first semester onward
Two main productions annually: Fall into Dance and Spring Dance Concert
Emerging Artists Showcase and BFA Concert for student choreographers
National and international performances including Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Your Move: NJ Modern Dance Festival, and American College Dance Association Southeast Festival

LIVE AUDITION FORMAT

Short ballet barre
Ballet center combination
Contemporary modern technique phrase work
Improvisation exercise to demonstrate creative and analytical skills

SOLO PERFORMANCE

90-second solo to demonstrate performance ability

ATTIRE

Correct dance wear (leotard/tights)
Footwear: ballet slippers and bare feet
Students may be asked to do pointe work at instructor discretion
Hair secured off face, no large jewelry
