Audition Process
•Auditions for Fall 2026 admission are complete; dates and information for Spring 2027 and Fall 2027 will be posted by August 28, 2026
•Requirements reflect the most recent (2025-2026) audition cycle
•Applicants complete a short interview about career goals and musical experience as part of the audition
•Saxophone applicants submit prescreen videos via Acceptd before the live audition
•Other instruments audition live or by recorded submission without a prescreen
•Each applicant sits for an interview to assess career goals and program fit
•Sight-reading at the audition assesses musicianship; memorization is optional for instrumentalists
Audition Expectations
•On-campus audition on the selected date
•Out-of-state and international applicants may submit recorded auditions and participate in a Zoom interview with the area head
•Accompanists are not provided or required for instrumental auditions
Decisions
•Acceptance/non-acceptance letters sent via email approximately 2 weeks after each audition
•Admission requires acceptance by both the Bower School of Music and FGCU Admissions
•If denied, may reapply the following semester; denied twice = no longer eligible
