Training
•The BM develops an individual compositional voice through contemporary classical writing, theory, orchestration, analysis, conducting, and score study. Computer music, electroacoustic work, digital audio, film scoring, video, interactive media, and notation software connect concert practice with creative technology.
Performance & Productions
•Student works are rehearsed, performed, and recorded by FIU performers, chamber groups, orchestras, and new-music ensembles; composers can also conduct their own music.
Professional Development
•Miami-based workshops, collaborations, and the New Music Miami International Festival connect undergraduate composers with guest artists and interdisciplinary projects.
