Training
•Bullet: Students act, direct, design, build, stage-manage, write, research, and produce, with productions serving as laboratories for classroom learning
•Bullet: The annual mainstage season spans children's drama, musical theatre, African American drama, Shakespeare and other classics, Play in a Day, and screen performances
•Bullet: Production practicum courses run through the freshman, sophomore, and junior years, followed by a Senior Seminar
•Bullet: A single mainstage production can generate 200–250 hours of close faculty/student contact in one semester
Professional Development
•Bullet: The program has relationships with Sweet Tea Shakespeare, Cape Fear Regional Theatre, Burning Coal Theatre, and Gilbert Theater
•Bullet: In summer 2025, 11 FSU Theatre students received Kenan Trust fellowships to take part in the International Collegiate Theatre Festival at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe
Degree Flexibility
•Bullet: General studies in Theatre are available without a concentration, with major electives such as Devised Theatre, Stage Management, and Children's Theatre for School and Community
•Bullet: Theatre majors may choose a minor from any program other than Theatre
