•Must be from a published play

•1 minute to 1 minute 30 seconds each

•No Shakespeare or classical monologues for BFA Performance candidates

Admission Pathway

•Must apply and be accepted to FAU before accepting an offer into the BFA track

•Submit prescreen via Acceptd — no need to wait for FAU admission

Transfer Pathway

FAU publishes a Theatre Performance BFA transfer guide with lower-division course recommendations for transfer planning. Transfer applicants still complete FAU admission plus the BFA prescreen and callback audition process.

Audition Process

•Submissions accepted beginning September 5, 2025

•Prescreen deadline: January 5, 2026

•Callback invitations sent no later than January 20, 2026

•Acceptance and alternate notifications released March 7, 2026

Audition Expectations

•On-campus audition: Saturday, February 21, 2026

•In-person auditions are highly recommended so applicants can tour the department and university, see productions, and meet students and faculty

•Visiting applicants may attend FAU's production of The Tempest on Friday, February 20, 2026

•FAU representatives attend the Florida Theatre Conference (FTC)
