•The BS Music is a general music major built around one-on-one private lessons, music theory, aural skills, music history, conducting, and piano
•Students can shape the degree around their musical strengths while working with faculty members and visiting artists, educators, and conductors
Performance & Productions
•Music majors can perform with Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, Greyhound Sound Marching Band, Jazz Band, Pep Band, Steel Drum Band, University Singers, Chamber Singers, Swanee Singers, and opera or musical theatre scenes
•The department also supports small woodwind, brass, percussion, and other chamber ensembles, creating performance opportunities for majors, minors, and non-majors
Professional Development
•Students can join music organizations such as the American Choral Directors Association, Kappa Kappa Psi, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia for leadership, service, and community
•The degree supports preparation for performance, teaching, composition, music technology, arts administration, and graduate study
