APPLICATION
•Apply to El Camino College through the school's online application at elcamino.edu/apply.php — there is no separate dance application or admission audition.
•Any applicant 18+ or who has a high school diploma (or equivalent) qualifies for admission under California community college open-admission rules.
•SAT and ACT scores are not considered for admission or scholarships.
DEGREE PATHWAY
•El Camino offers the Dance Associate of Arts (AA) Degree, designed to prepare students for entry-level dance work or for transfer to a bachelor's degree program at a four-year college or university.
•The AA meets most common transfer requirements for continuing dance study at another school.
TIMING
•The dance department does not post a separate application deadline; students follow the college's rolling admission and registration timelines.
ADMISSION
•No audition, portfolio review, or interview is required for admission to the dance program.
•Students enter through El Camino's college-wide open-admission process and begin dance coursework at the level appropriate to their experience.
AFTER ENROLLMENT
•Auditions for Advanced Dance Theatre (Dance 289) and Concert Dance Ensemble (Dance 287) are held after enrollment for placement into those specific courses and performance groups.
