Training
•BFA Performance is built as pre-professional actor training inside a small liberal arts theatre program
•Catalog coursework includes acting, movement, voice for the stage, theatre history, senior project, and professional theatre experience
•BFA students jury yearly before department faculty, and Performance students audition for a practicum assignment every semester
Performance & Productions
•Formal partnership with Barter Theatre gives students access to professional theatre artists in nearby Abingdon
•Students may pursue Barter internships, attend up to ten Barter productions per year, and take part in talkbacks, rehearsal observation, masterclasses, workshops, and mentorships
Professional Development
•The department reports alumni working at Barter Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse, Disney World, Portland Playhouse, Stella Adler Studio, and other theatre organizations

•Theatre and dance programs are housed in the Woodrow W. McGlothlin Center for the Arts
