Training
•Bullet: Eckerd's BFA Theatre pathway is the acting-focused option in the College's 2+2 partnership with Circle in the Square Theatre School, pairing Eckerd study with conservatory training in New York City.
•Bullet: The acting prescreen centers on two contrasting monologues: one contemporary selection and one Shakespeare selection. The required material emphasizes text work, character development, and performance rather than the singing component used by the Musical Theatre pathway.
•Bullet: Circle in the Square was founded in 1961 and is housed in a Broadway theatre, giving students a distinctly professional setting for actor training.
•Bullet: The partnership connects students with a Broadway-district conservatory and with Eckerd's Bininger Center for Performing Arts, which includes a 324-seat proscenium theatre and a black box studio.
•Bullet: Students can pursue internship opportunities with American Stage Theatre Company, freeFall Theatre, and other Tampa Bay-area theatres while building practical experience alongside academic study.
•Bullet: Circle auditions may be completed virtually or in person, and the live process includes an interview as well as an audition after prescreen review.
Study Abroad
•Bullet: Eckerd's study-abroad options include London, Dublin, Scotland, and Australia, giving theatre students opportunities to broaden their cultural and performance perspectives.
