Audition Process
•Complete a full audition on your primary instrument or voice to be formally accepted
•Request an audition via the department's online form
•In-person, video, or Zoom audition options available
•If the audition is unsuccessful, students may repeat it once
Teaching Component
•Complete the Music Education Supplemental Application and return it to the Department of Music before your audition
Audition Expectations
•Sight-reading will be provided
•Aural skills evaluation: singing back several short five- or six-note melodies after one hearing (solfege not required)
•For video/Zoom: upload an unedited video to YouTube or Vimeo (private link) and submit the link via the department's online form
Decisions
•Audition by March 1 for maximum scholarship consideration
•Talent-based scholarships awarded on a rolling basis November through March
