•East 15 Acting School traces its heritage to 1961 and the legacy of Joan Littlewood's Theatre Workshop
•Member of the Federation of Drama Schools
•Part of the University of Essex, ranked number one in the UK for drama and dance (Guardian University Guide 2026)
Training & Productions
•Intensive, hands-on training in a wide range of global theatre practices
•Explores Western and non-Western acting techniques and traditions, from World Music to Commedia dell'Arte and Balinese Kecak
•Introduces filmmaking basics and backstage roles such as theatre production and set design, with three technically supported productions in the final year
•From autumn 2026 the course is based at the Colchester Campus, set in 200 acres of parkland near Colchester city centre
Study Abroad
•Study abroad for a term or join a summer programme at a partner institution
Your Future
•Graduates work as performers, directors, facilitators, producers, and researchers for theatre, film, and TV
•Alumni have performed in the West End and at theatres such as Birmingham Rep, and many have founded companies touring to festivals including the Edinburgh Fringe
