•East 15 Acting School traces its heritage to 1961 and the legacy of Joan Littlewood's Theatre Workshop
•Member of the Federation of Drama Schools
•Part of the University of Essex, ranked number one in the UK for drama and dance (Guardian University Guide 2026)
•The only three-year degree of its kind, unique in both the UK and the world
Training & Productions
•Vocational conservatoire actor training with a dedicated focus on physical dramatic action
•Training in combat for stage and screen, including martial arts, gymnastics, and multiple theatrical weapon systems
•Develops physical performance skills that combine discipline, focus, and emotional connection
•From 2026-27 the course is based at the Colchester Campus, set in 200 acres of parkland near Colchester city centre
Entry Consideration
•Applicants must be able to face the strenuous physical demands of this course
•Best suited to those with a physical background who want to develop their skills in a creative context, using the whole body to express character and story
Your Future
•Graduates work as actors, fight directors, stunt and specialist performers, and movement specialists
•Career paths span theatre, film, television, opera, ballet, historical re-enactment, and motion capture and green screen work for film and games
