Audition Process
•Bullet: Auditions are required for students planning to pursue the Bachelor of Musical Arts
•Bullet: BMA students may audition prior to matriculation or before major declaration in the spring semester of sophomore year
•Bullet: Auditions also support music scholarship and lesson fee waiver consideration
Audition Expectations
•Bullet: In-person auditions are available by appointment and subject to faculty availability
•Bullet: Virtual recordings are accepted when an on-campus audition is not feasible
•Bullet: Recordings must include all audition requirements and may not exceed 20 minutes
•Bullet: In-person auditions last approximately 20 minutes
•Bullet: In-person auditions include prepared performance, sight-reading, and a brief conversation with the audition committee
•Bullet: Virtual auditions do not require sight-reading or scale performance
•Bullet: Virtual auditionees may be asked to meet virtually with applied faculty
