Audition Process
•Auditions are required for students planning to pursue the Bachelor of Musical Arts
•BMA students may audition prior to matriculation or before major declaration in the spring semester of sophomore year
•Auditions also support music scholarship and lesson fee waiver consideration
Audition Expectations
•In-person auditions are available by appointment and subject to faculty availability
•Virtual recordings are accepted when an on-campus audition is not feasible
•Recordings must include all audition requirements and may not exceed 20 minutes
•In-person auditions last approximately 20 minutes
•In-person auditions include prepared performance, sight-reading, and a brief conversation with the audition committee
•Virtual auditions do not require sight-reading or scale performance
•Virtual auditionees may be asked to meet virtually with applied faculty
