Training
•Conservatory-style training covering wig construction and styling, makeup design and application, styling of actors' hair, and creation of makeup prosthetics
•Students collaborate with actors, directors, designers, technicians, and professional makeup shop staff
•Students create and design wigs and makeup for multiple public productions each year

•Formal and informal feedback through portfolio presentations and exhibits of student work
•30+ productions per year including mainstage and studio-level shows, giving continuous hands-on experience

•Theoni V. Aldredge — graduated from the Goodman School of Drama (the Theatre School's predecessor); won three Tony Awards for costume design (Annie, Barnum, La Cage aux Folles) and an Academy Award for The Great Gatsby (1974), spanning a six-decade career on Broadway and in film Professional Development
