•Conservatory-style BFA within The Theatre School — the Midwest's oldest theatre conservatory (est. 1925)
•Nearly 2,000 applicants compete for 134 spots across all Theatre School programs each year
Training
•Students learn to visualize, create, and implement projection designs by collaborating with directors, dramaturges, technicians, and professional production staff
•Serve as projection designer for workshops and public productions throughout the program
•30+ productions per year across mainstage and studio spaces — continuous hands-on design experience
Notable Alumni
•The Theatre School's design and technology alumni work across Broadway, regional theatre, opera, and film — recent graduates have placed at Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf, Lyric Opera, and Santa Fe Opera
Professional Development
•Fourth-year internship required; past sites include Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Kennedy Center, Cirque du Soleil, and HAMILTON
