TRAINING & PERFORMANCE
•Denison Dance Company provides year-round performance opportunities working with professional choreographers
•Movement practices centered on Contemporary Dance and African/African-Diasporan forms with global perspectives
•Cutting-edge and experimental dance practices integrated with embodied scholarly inquiry
FACILITIES
•Thorsen Dance Studio with natural light, Harlequin sprung-floor system, and radiant floor heating
•Michael D. Eisner Center for the Performing Arts with state-of-the-art stages and rehearsal spaces
•Thorsen Studio serves as both primary teaching space and flexible performance venue
CURRICULUM
•36 credit hours integrating movement practices, cultural/scientific studies, choreography, production, and dance film
•Four areas of inquiry: Critical Historical Studies, Compositional Studies, Human Movement Investigations, Movement Analysis
•Senior Research project across two semesters (DANC 451 & 452)
•Liberal arts approach blending artistic practice with arts leadership skills
CAREER OUTCOMES
•Recent graduates work as Disney performers, software engineers, teachers, writers, and pursue graduate degrees
•Knowlton Center for Career Exploration and Denison Edge professional development program
STUDENT LIFE
•Internship connections include Chicago Human Rhythm Project, Mark Morris Dance Group, American Dance Festival, and Battery Dance
•Study abroad opportunities to experience dance across cultures
•Summer Scholars program for independent research with stipend and housing

Submission Requirements
ARTS SUPPLEMENT (optional, for scholarship consideration)
•Submit via Denison applicant portal (connect.denison.edu) after filing university application
ESSAY (required for supplement)
•Short essay describing how, when, and where you have danced
•250 words maximum
VIDEO (required for supplement)
•Short video portraying your craft
•Can be from a class, social gathering, or informal/formal performance
•May be composites of several examples
•5-10 minutes total length

•No application fee
•After submitting, access the Denison applicant portal (connect.denison.edu) via email link

ELIGIBILITY
•No major or minor in dance required to receive arts scholarship
•Scholarship automatically renewable each year even if you change your major
•Test-optional since 2008 — scores not required

Scholarship Info
MERIT-BASED ARTS SCHOLARSHIPS
•$5,000 to $15,000, renewable for all four years
•Recipients are encouraged but not required to major or minor in the arts
•All arts supplement submitters are automatically considered
•Submit by application deadline (Nov 15 for ED1, Jan 15 for ED2/RD)
•May submit supplements in multiple disciplines, but only one scholarship awarded
