Scholarship Audition Requirements

These requirements are from the Fall 2026 entry cycle. Fall 2027 requirements are typically posted between August and October and usually change only slightly — confirm on the official source before submitting.

Optional audition for scholarship consideration only; it is not required for program admission.

Repertoire List

Brass and woodwinds: two major scales of your choice in two octaves; chromatic scale from bottom to top of range; at least 5 minutes of a prepared larger work with contrasting-style sections

Percussion: keyboard percussion solo plus two major scales; snare drum solo; optional timpani or multiple-percussion solo

Guitar, strings, and piano: contact the listed faculty member for appropriate repertoire before auditioning

Woodwind, brass, and percussion video auditions do not require an accompanist

Program Requirements

Music theory placement exam is taken online before the first semester and is used for course placement, not admission
