-Must be from a published play
-Read the entire play before performing
•One poetic text performed as a monologue
-Can be from a play using heightened language OR standalone poetry
-Must be performed from the character's perspective
-Examples: contemporary poetry, Shakespeare, classical Greek, spoken word, slam, ASL
