Application Logistics
•Apply to CWU through university admissions separately; Music Department admission requires both an audition and CWU acceptance
•Submit the audition application through Acceptd, or audition in person on a campus audition date
•30 USD Acceptd application fee for online submissions
•Music applications reviewed for full consideration by March 1
•Acceptd final deadline for Fall 2026 submissions is June 30, 2026
•Late applications continue until studio spaces fill; some studios close after March 1
Degree Pathway
•The BA in Music suits students who want to major in music without focusing on classroom teaching or a performance career
•Graduates pursue private studios, arts management, private-school teaching, and a range of careers in and out of the arts
Placement
•Admitted students take a music theory and aural-skills placement exam at orientation — for course placement only, not admission
