Audition Process
•Bullet: Private auditions/interviews take place in Cleveland, New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, and remotely; the audition request form opened September 1, 2026, with auditions held December 2026 through February 2027 for Fall 2027 entry
•Bullet: The program participates in URTA National Unified Auditions and Interviews (NUAI)
•Bullet: URTA candidates may receive same-day callbacks or later taped, remote, or in-person follow-up before offer day
•Bullet: International applicants not auditioning in person may submit preliminary-round self-tapes by December 4, 2026; callback status is confirmed by December 9, 2026, with online callbacks for international candidates held December 19, 2026
•Bullet: Final callbacks for all candidates are held February 12-14, 2027 over Zoom, by invitation only
•Bullet: The program begins making offers in mid-February; URTA's own offer period runs February 15-March 1, 2027 for URTA-registered candidates
Audition Expectations
•Bullet: Private audition/interview lasts approximately 10 minutes (a URTA callback lasts 15 minutes)
•Bullet: Present two contrasting memorized monologues: one contemporary and one Shakespearean verse, totaling no more than four minutes
•Bullet: Be prepared to present additional contemporary/classical pieces if requested
•Bullet: Candidate may be asked to sing a short unaccompanied song
•Bullet: End-of-day callbacks may include group warmup, group work, Q&A, individual work, and an interview
