CWRU's Department of Dance became an autonomous department in 2011, traces its modern-dance roots to the 1950s, and is a founding member of the National Dance Association.

Partners with the Cleveland Institute of Music, Cleveland Institute of Art, and DanceCleveland on collaborative projects.

Training

BA in Dance requires 41 credit hours, with core study in Modern/Contemporary Technique, Ballet Technique, Dance History, and Production (crew).

After faculty review of the submitted scholarship video, selected applicants are invited to a mandatory on-campus final audition.

The on-campus audition is required to remain under scholarship consideration; it is not required for admission to the BA Dance major.
