Audition Process
•Private auditions/interviews offered in Cleveland, New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, and remotely
•Private audition request form opens in Fall 2026; exact dates TBD
•2026-27 audition dates and locations are TBD
•Program participates in URTA National Unified Auditions and Interviews (NUAI)
•URTA candidates may receive same-day callbacks or later taped, remote, or in-person follow-up before offer day
•International applicants not auditioning in person may submit self-tapes for the preliminary round
•International self-tape materials due January 4, 2027; callback status by January 11, 2027
•Final callbacks for all candidates planned via Zoom in February 2027, date TBD
•Acceptance process begins in early February; firm dates announced Fall 2026
Audition Expectations
•Private audition/interview lasts approximately 15 minutes with MFA program leadership
•Present two contrasting memorized monologues: one contemporary and one Shakespearean verse
•Total monologue time may not exceed 4 minutes
•Be prepared to present additional contemporary/classical pieces if requested
•Candidate may be asked to sing a short unaccompanied song
•End-of-day callbacks may include group warmup, group work, Q&A, individual work, and an interview
