Good to Know

•Apply to Hunter through CUNY first.

•Register with the Music Department for the undergraduate entrance exams and performance evaluation.

•Prior college music coursework is evaluated through advanced placement tests for use toward the major.

Transfer Pathway

Music transfer students can use placement exams to apply music theory, history, and musicianship credit toward the major, while performance credits normally transfer without examination. Hunter Promise also lists Music as an approved Arts & Sciences transfer major with no special entry requirements.
