Audition Expectations
•Bullet: Principal voice or instrument performance — two pieces in contrasting style
•Bullet: Vocalists encouraged (not required) to sing one song in a foreign language
•Bullet: Instrumentalists: scales, arpeggios, and sight reading requested at the audition
•Bullet: Piano placement examination
•Bullet: Music theory examination — key signatures, intervals, chords, scales, Roman numeral analysis, rhythmic patterns, time signatures, melody dictation
•Bullet: Aural skills evaluation — ear training aptitude and sing a simple folk song, carol, hymn, or patriotic song
•Bullet: In-person audition at Bloomsburg or Mansfield campus
•Bullet: Video or Zoom audition option available to all applicants — register and a department representative will coordinate
•Bullet: Recorded audition must be unedited with a minimum of two contrasting works
•Bullet: Sight reading, theory, and aural skills completed via Zoom for recorded auditions
