•Bullet: Bass: two pieces of varying styles (one jazz-based is preferred; rock, R&B, funk, and classical are other options), plus a 30-second style demonstration in two of jazz, walking bass, funk, tapping, R&B, or rock
•Bullet: Bass: one-octave arpeggios (Maj7, dominant 7, minor 7, minor 7 b5, fully diminished seventh) and all seven Greek modes as one-octave scales in any key
•Bullet: Brass: two solo pieces of contrasting styles (etudes or a concerto movement), one melodic and lyrical and one technical, in jazz, pop, alternative, or classical styles
•Bullet: Brass: three two-octave quarter-note scales and arpeggios at quarter note = 80, and a full-range chromatic scale in eighth notes at quarter note = 120
•Bullet: Cello: two pieces of varying styles, one melodic and lyrical and one technical (jazz, pop, alternative, or classical), plus one etude from Schroder, Lee, Duport, Popper, or Piatti (a transcribed jazz or pop/alternative solo may substitute)
•Bullet: Cello: one major and one minor three-octave scale (one slow, one fast) and one major and one minor three-octave arpeggio (both slow)
•Bullet: Drum kit: repertoire in two styles from Swing/Bebop, Funk/Rock, Afro-Cuban (mambo, Mozambique), Brazilian (bossa nova, samba), or Jazz waltz, plus a 4/4 or 3/4 groove with brushes
•Bullet: Drum kit: a medium-tempo solo piece (76-120 bpm) in one of those styles that introduces a theme, develops or improvises on it, and returns to the theme with a clear, definite ending
•Bullet: Drum kit, live audition: also prepare one piece to perform, either a drum solo on a drum kit or a snare drum etude (such as from Cirone's Portraits in Rhythm); no drum corps parts
•Bullet: Electronic Digital Instrument (EDI): one piece performed live (not pre-recorded), 3-5 minutes long in any style, showing abilities such as live effects processing, live looping, control-surface facility (Ableton Push, Novation Launchpad, APC 40), iPhone or iPad sound sources (apps such as GarageBand for iOS, Animoog, Synth One, or Filtatron), finger drumming, or live synth playing
•Bullet: Guitar: two selections from a jazz chord-and-melody arrangement for solo guitar, a single melodic line solo transcription (jazz, fusion, pop, or rock), a solo classical piece (Bach, Sor, Carcassi, Brouwer, or comparable), or a fingerstyle piece in alternate or standard tuning
•Bullet: Guitar: Maj7, 7, min7, min7(b5), dim7, min6, 13, 9, and min9 chords in root-6 and root-5 positions; two-octave major scales in three positions, the seven Greek modes (one position per mode), and two-octave seventh-chord arpeggios (major seventh, seventh, minor seventh, minor seventh flat five, diminished seventh), in any key
•Bullet: Percussion: a concert-style snare drum solo (Anthony Cirone "Portraits in Rhythm" or similar) and a rudimental-style snare drum solo, no marching band solos (John S. Pratt "14 Modern Contest Solos for Snare Drum", or three Charley Wilcoxon "All-American Drummer" solos played in succession at one tempo)
•Bullet: Percussion (optional): a short 2- or 4-mallet solo on marimba, vibes, or xylophone, and/or a brief demonstration of Latin (Afro-Cuban or Brazilian) percussion skills on congas, timbales, bongo, etc.
•Bullet: Piano/keyboard: two pieces of contrasting styles (Jazz, Latin, Pop/Rock/R&B, or Classical), one slower showing touch and expressivity and one faster showing technique and energy
•Bullet: Piano/keyboard (optional): an original composition, performed in addition to the two pieces and not as a substitute
•Bullet: Piano/keyboard: major scales with both hands in B, C, Db, and D, two octaves ascending and descending, eighth notes at quarter note = 80
•Bullet: Violin/viola: the solo parts of two selections, with or without live or pre-recorded accompaniment: one piece incorporating improvisation from a rock, jazz, country, pop, or world music style, and one classical piece (Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20th Century, or Contemporary)
•Bullet: Voice: two memorized songs from Jazz, Pop, Rock, Contemporary, Folk, Musical Theater, or Original Composition; unless a selection was originally a cappella, it is accompanied (accompany yourself on piano or guitar, use an accompanist, or use an accompaniment track)
•Bullet: Woodwind: two solo pieces of contrasting styles (etudes or a concerto movement), one melodic and lyrical and one technical, in jazz, pop, alternative, or classical styles
•Bullet: Woodwind: three two-octave quarter-note scales and arpeggios at quarter note = 80, and a full-range chromatic scale in eighth notes at quarter note = 120
